Te Ao Mārama provides representation, leadership and support to the Māori oral health workforce – dental therapists, dentists, dental specialists, oral health promoters, support staff, researchers, teachers and students.
The Dental Council is a regulatory authority created by the Health Practitioners Competence Assurance Act 2003. We ensure oral health practitioners meet and maintain our standards in order to protect the health and safety of the New Zealand public.
The New Zealand Dental Association (NZDA) is the professional association for New Zealand dentists. As well as providing services for its members, the NZDA is the one body able to speak on behalf of NZ dentistry as a whole.
Health Workforce New Zealand (HWNZ) provides national leadership as it works with stakeholders involved in the postgraduate training of those in the health sector.
The Australian Dental and Oral Health Therapists’ Association is the peak national body representing dental therapists and oral health therapists.
This association comprises oral health professionals working in the public sector as oral health service managers, clinical leaders in public sector dentistry and dental therapy and senior oral health advisors.
